About Us

Nestled in the heart of Athens, Texas, Beck's Chapel Cemetery is a treasured part of the community’s history. Serving as a peaceful final resting place for generations, the cemetery reflects the stories, traditions, and legacy of Henderson County’s past.

Beck's Chapel Cemetery is honored to be recognized as a Texas State Historical Cemetery. Within its gates lie the memories of local pioneers, community leaders, and families who helped shape the area’s cultural and historical landscape. Several historical markers throughout the grounds share their stories and contributions.

Whether you’re researching family history, appreciating local heritage, or simply enjoying a peaceful walk beneath the shade of historic trees, Beck's Chapel Cemetery offers a place of reflection, remembrance, and quiet beauty.

Board of Directors

Beck's Chapel Cemetery is lovingly maintained by the Beck's Chapel Cemetery Association, a non-profit organization dedicated to the care, preservation, and beautification of this historic resting place. The Association’s mission is to honor those laid to rest here by ensuring the cemetery remains a peaceful and respectful sanctuary for remembrance, reflection, and connection to generations past and future.

Operating costs continue to rise, and the preservation of the grounds is made possible through plot reservations, memorial donations, and planned giving.
